About

Mahshid Hosseini

I’m Mahshid Hosseini, a visual artist creating emotionally driven portraits that explore themes of freedom, silence, and inner strength. While influenced by realism, my portraits prioritize atmosphere, emotion, and inner presence over literal accuracy. I paint women not as they are seen, but as they feel — quiet, powerful, complex.

Each piece holds a quiet tension — a moment suspended between vulnerability and courage. My portraits are not just visual likenesses, but emotional landscapes: tender, restrained, and quietly defiant.

I work primarily in oil, drawn to its softness and depth, allowing each brushstroke to carry both form and feeling. My practice continues to unfold in the space between what is visible and what is felt — the parts of us that speak without sound.
