About

Mahshid Hosseini

I’m Mahshid Hosseini, a visual artist creating emotionally driven portraits that explore themes of freedom, silence, and inner strength. Influenced by realism, my work prioritizes atmosphere, emotion, and inner presence over literal likeness. I paint women not as they are seen, but as they feel — quiet, powerful, complex.

Each piece holds a quiet tension — a moment suspended between vulnerability and courage. My portraits are not only visual likenesses but emotional landscapes: tender, restrained, and quietly defiant.

Working primarily in oil, I’m drawn to its softness and depth, allowing each brushstroke to carry both form and feeling. My practice unfolds in the space between what is visible and what is felt — the parts of us that speak without sound.

Through realistic yet expressive portraits, I aim to reveal the emotional freedom and quiet power within women, capturing the strength and courage that emerge through vulnerability.
